Easter Party at the Boise Zoo

Every year, the Boise Zoo would organize a Easter Egg Hunt Event/FunFair. There will be Easter egg hunt for different age groups. The volunteers would throw candies and eggs all over the ground and the respective age group would then rush in to pick as many candies as possible.

Collette was one of the few kids that rush in but it all ended when she picked up 1 sweet. She was standing there trying to get the wrapper out and enjoying her candy.

Colds and Medicine

Collette caught a cold from one of the few kids at homecare. I'm really glad we moved to a homecare: looking back at the larger daycare she used to be sick continuously, with 5 ear infections in 1.5 years. Now it's just one cold over the winter plus one ear infection. It's a huge difference and one worth paying money for. There's nothing worse than having a sick child. They're so helpless and you can't do anything for them, especially because the stupid FDA pulled infant cold medicine off the shelf. I just noticed, they started to put back cough medicine for 2 years and above, so I was able to buy some for Collette. But Infant to 2 year olds apparently have to suffer because of a few idiots. That's one thing Singapore has right - they allow you and the doctors make decisions for your baby rather than one poorly governed body of doctors. Too much democracy is not any better than too little in this case.

Best Buddies!

The one thing I like about Collette attending daycare is that she gets to hang around children of different ages. Stranger anxiety seemed less of a problem since she gets to see people/kids all the time.

Please allow me to introduce Collette's best buddy, Fisher. He is 3 months younger than Collette and they hang out with each other all the time. It is such a cute sight when they are playing together. Fisher is such a loving boy and he hugs Collette whenever Collette permits. The teachers in daycare call them the sweetest couple.....

First Visit to the playground

Finally, the weather got just a tiny bit better... It's time for Collette first visit to the playground... I'm always excited for her very first time experience in anything she does or learn. When I was a little kid, I had always looked forward to every visit to the playground and I remembered my all time favorite is the "THE SWING". How did Collette not get the good side of me??

After a long day.....

We have pretty much a daily routine ever since little Collette went into daycare. She usually wakes up at 7am in the morning. This time of the day is Collette's favorite. While waiting for us to get ready for work, she dabbles a lot and usually amused herself with her baby talk. She is such a morning baby.

Leaving her in the daycare does not seem like a problem at all! She is so happy to be surrounded by so many toys and friends. We usually kissed her goodbye and she does not pay any attention to any one of us but just immersed in her 'wonderland of toys'.

The roughest time of day happens during the evening when picking her up. According to the teachers in daycare, Collette rarely have a nice long nap (usually 30 mins here and there). She is just so excited and attentive to her surroundings that she would not want to waste a minute to her discovery. This is where life is hard for us when it's time to take her home. The ride home is so rough.. She is cranky and demanding and nothing would stop her yelling until we reach home.

Eating is Collette's favorite hobby too. She now is able to finish up a whole bowl of 'Mommy's home cook porridge'. She would actually yell at me when food is not fetched promptly into her mouth. Here is a pic of Collette after feeding... She just dozed off in her highchair after a busy day in daycare...... Nite Nite my little baby...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2007

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31st. This is one of those seasons that American kids will never forget since this is the time where they will get to go around houses for trick-or-treating. This is an activity for children in which they proceed from house to house in costumes, asking for treats (basically tonnes of candies). The question then is why "TRICK or TREAT"? The trick part is a threat to play a trick on the homeowner if no treat is given.

Harrison Blvd is the one of the busiest street on Halloween night. Most of the houses on this street are nicely decorated for Halloween. Family from everywhere drives their kids across town just to feel the strong 'Halloween Mood' and apparently, houses are really expensive on this street and therefore, many also believe they could get more expensive treats... This is why we are there tonight to search for an answer..

This is what I heard from some kids along the pathway " Hey, this house is giving away chocolate bar, let's line up for a couple more rounds... " and here I am, carrying Collette for free chocolate bar.. hehe...

Monster Baby

Fall is Here...

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf's a flower. Around this time, deciduous trees starts to shed their leave, with the leaves changing to a reddish or brownish hue before falling. This pretty sight makes autumn my favorite season of the year. At this time, the weather starts to turn colder and colder and in no time, the harsh winter will be here.

Our yard is covered mostly with the fallen leaves. It usually take us a while to get these leaves picked up and here, Collette is having a taste of it....
