Easter Party at the Boise Zoo

Every year, the Boise Zoo would organize a Easter Egg Hunt Event/FunFair. There will be Easter egg hunt for different age groups. The volunteers would throw candies and eggs all over the ground and the respective age group would then rush in to pick as many candies as possible.

Collette was one of the few kids that rush in but it all ended when she picked up 1 sweet. She was standing there trying to get the wrapper out and enjoying her candy.

Best Buddies!

The one thing I like about Collette attending daycare is that she gets to hang around children of different ages. Stranger anxiety seemed less of a problem since she gets to see people/kids all the time.

Please allow me to introduce Collette's best buddy, Fisher. He is 3 months younger than Collette and they hang out with each other all the time. It is such a cute sight when they are playing together. Fisher is such a loving boy and he hugs Collette whenever Collette permits. The teachers in daycare call them the sweetest couple.....

First Visit to the playground

Finally, the weather got just a tiny bit better... It's time for Collette first visit to the playground... I'm always excited for her very first time experience in anything she does or learn. When I was a little kid, I had always looked forward to every visit to the playground and I remembered my all time favorite is the "THE SWING". How did Collette not get the good side of me??

It's my birthday!

As one grow older (at least for me), they usually no longer have the urge or excitment to celebrate their b'day since this reminds me of being old. All I really do enjoy is having some alone time with my family and of course cake cutting and making a wish is a MUST! This day, Chris made me my favorite spaghetti and we also bought a mini tiramisu.. I secretly gave some to little Collette and Toby and they love it.. oh... what did I get for my birthday present.. hehe.. I got a IPHONE.... jealous huh...

HoHoHo.... Christmas is coming....

Ryan is Miss Julia's little baby girl. She is a year old now and she likes being pretty.Weighing 28lbs is Kasey. She is only almost a yr old but weighed like a 2yr old. Her favorite breakfast are donuts, chocolate cookies and icecream. Carly's dad works with Mommy and Daddy. Carly and I are about the same age but Carly is already crawling and standing up by herself. How Jealous..... :(

Fall is Here...

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf's a flower. Around this time, deciduous trees starts to shed their leave, with the leaves changing to a reddish or brownish hue before falling. This pretty sight makes autumn my favorite season of the year. At this time, the weather starts to turn colder and colder and in no time, the harsh winter will be here.

Our yard is covered mostly with the fallen leaves. It usually take us a while to get these leaves picked up and here, Collette is having a taste of it....

Farewell to my buddies in Boise

For my 5 years in Boise, I'm blessed to have met this bunch of friends to share my joy, laughter, sorrow and pain. They are (from left) Bobbie, Rosie, Jessica, Me, Vj and Jenny. We are a bunch of ladies with different personality but for some reason, we clicked really really well. I think it is the unique character that we each of us possess that compliment each other. However, good things always comes to an end, Bobbie and Vj are going to leave Boise... I think I will definitely miss them....

Portland/Oregon Coast Trip

It's time for a family outing again. Since Collette's daycare is closed on Monday for Teacher's Conference (whatever that means), we decided to take a trip down to PORTLAND/OREGON COAST. This was the very first time, we as a whole family(included Toby), leaving on a road trip. We were somewhat nervous about bringing both babies at the same time since they both can be really pretty demanding. The weather sure did not help since it was always at about 10+°c and sure the wind was blasting. However, we still had a marvelous time. We were at downtown Portland for the first day and we headed straight to the Oregon Coast on the 2nd day. This place is an awesome place with breathtaking view of the pacific ocean. There are so many picture perfect places that you could spot and I just can't help but snap plenty of photos. This place is now my ideal place to retire. Here are a few to share with you guys....

Downtown Boise on a Sunday morning

'Goldies' restaurant in downtown Boise is always one of our favorite places to have a good American breakfast on a Sunday morning. This place is so popular among people and the wait is usually very very long (we waited for an hr). However, it is definitely well worth the wait. While waiting, it is always nice to have a coffee at the nearby Starbucks.

Did you notice Collette's little outfit? As the weather got colder, I have decided to dress her well and I thought she looked so cute in this green sweater and winter cap. Can't help but took plenty of pics and these are a few to share with you guys...

P/S : Debbie, do you recognize this jacket that I'm wearing? ... hehe...

Divya's 1st Birthday Party

Peach and Apple Picking

It's Peach and Apple Picking Time.

The peach and apple picking season usually starts around 1st week of August and will continue to mid September. There is always an art to everything and this of course peaching fruit is one of them. Rules : Peaches are best picked when the fruit separates easily from the twigs. If it is hard to pull off the tree, it isn't ripe. Color of the peach plays a important part too but the most important is to look out for is definitely the smell - the sweeter the smell, the tastier the peach it is! We had a awesome time picking these sweet and cheap peaches...

First Week in Daycare

Time seems to fly unbelievably fast. Collette is already 6 months old now and she has just survived her first week in daycare. Initially, I was still skeptical of the idea of leaving her with someone totally unfamiliar but things turned out to be not as bad as I thought it would be. Still remembering the first day: I felt like I was a bad, bad Mummy, leaving her alone with someone else that she barely knows. She was actually pretty excited about seeing so many other babies the same age and was overwhelmed by them. She was not at all interested in us when we kissed her goodbye. Her attention was solely on this little kid who is crawling around, exploring all the toys she could find. Even then, having to leave her there was the worst feeling ever and I have never thought it would be so hard on me. Tears starts rolling down my cheek the moment I step out of that room. At that moment, I could hear a voice whispering into my ear, persuading me to quit my job to be a full-time stay home Mummy.

Chris & I made it a point to visit her during our lunch hour, only to find her happily enjoying the company of her new teachers and friends. Her usual "stranger anxiety" has not surfaced at all in this new environment. It was then that I felt relieved and sure that this decision that we have made may not be a bad thing for her.
